Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AEstimating the cost of operating tippers is more difficult than the corresponding exercise for platform vehicles operating on

general haulage, because of the wide difference in operating conditions which can apply to tipper work.

With this qualification and assuming that when you state "'running costs" you are actually implying "operating costs" which comprise both standing costs and running costs, the following details would be relevant to a 7-ton tipper:—

Standing costs per week, with no allowance for overtime, are estimated to be £20 19s. 9d. and assuming that the average weekly mileage is 600 or over, the total running costs a mile would be 14.99d.

Still assuming an average of 600 miles a week the addition of the two amounts would give a total operating cost per mile of 23.39d. At 800 and 1,000 miles a week the operating cost per mile would be 21.29d. and 20.03d. respectively.
