Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

FEWER goods vehicles were produced in Austria last year, the annual output failing to 4,439 units from a 1959 level of 4,875 units. Exports of Austrian goods vehicles fell from 1,400 units to 1,080 units, and bus output decreased from 660 units to 209 units over the year, exports falling virtually to nothing.

Holland: Figures now issued in Amsterdam for the first nine monthsof last year, as .compared with the corresponding period of 1959, indicate a big eipansion in the Dutch . goods vehicle industry. Goods vehicles, including chassis production, over the period was of 2,164 units, assembly of 2,671 units, export of 1.089 units and imports of 2,023 units. Long-distance Russian Coaches

THE development is announced of prototypes of several new models of long-distance coaches in the Soviet Union. For international transport, the coaches are now on trial and win later be built in regular production at Lvov. The types are: Karpaty H, with 34 reclining seals, built-in buffet, refrigerator and toilet compartment, and fitted with V-8 180b.h.p. engine and six-speed electrically controlled gearbox, allowing cruising speeds of up to 60 m.p.h.; 699-A, a less Luxurious version of Karpaty H with the same body and engine but with either 43 or 55 seats—stated to be over 2+ tons lighter than the existing long-distance coach ZiL-127—the 699-A is 40 per cent. cheaper to produce; and the Karpaty I, a 25-seat luxury coach.

NEW CONTAINER SHIP FOR ULSTER SERVICE ATEST addition to the Coast Lines' fleet, the unit load cargo ship "Buffalo" (2,200 tons), has been launched at Ardrossan Dockyard. Specially designed to carry vehicles and container cargo between Great Britain and Northern Ireland. the new motor vessel is expected to go into service in August. Vehicles will be carried in the large hold, and the 'tween deck has not been built throughout the length so that vehicles carrying very high loads can be accommodated at the forward end.

HIGH MILEAGE OILER

inA MILEAGE of 459,000 before major overhaul has been attained by the 0.600 oil engine in a Leyland Titan double-decker bus operated by Southport Corporation.

Although the fuel pump, cylinder heads and injectors have been serviced' regularly, it is said that pistons and cylinder bores are the originals. When stripped down bore wear was found to be an average of 0.007 in.

Another of Southport's Leyland Titans is said to have covered 478,000 miles with 'the original engine.
