Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

The Commissioners Put an End to Long-standing Feuds Between Operators and Municipalities FOLLOWING our reference last .12-week to the first sitting of the South Wales Commissioners at Pontypridd, we are able now to give details of the proceedings on the subsequent days. Red and White Motor Services, Ltd., successfully overcame the resistance of Merthyr Tydfil Council and the Merthyr Electric Traction Co., to its application for a licence to run its Tredegar-Dowlais service into Merthyr, permission having been refused in the 'past when the council was the licensing authority.

Similarly, the Imperial Motor -CO., of ..kbercynon, obtained a licence to run buses from Merthyr via Treharris and Nelson to Traveller's Rest, to enable connection to be made with the company's Cardiff-Aberdare service which operates via Pontypridd.

The same concert obtained the Commissioners' decision in favour of its using the Castle Street terminus in Merthyr for its service to Cardiff, this terminus being used by Merthyr and Cardiff corporations and the Rhondda Tramways Co., Ltd.

Licences granted included those applied for by Mr. T. W. Jones, of Brynecthin and the Western Welsh Omnibus

Co., Ltd., for existing services between Bridgend and the Ogmore and Garw valleys. The Western Welsh concern stated that it had long endeavoured to bring about a scheme whereby Mr. Jones's services would be Rpeeded up and co-ordinated ; the Commissioners were not prepared to have time-tables amended so as to speed up services.
