The standing charges relative to the operation of your vehicle I calculate to be as follow : The figures are per week. Licence, 2s. 2d.; wages, £4 13s. 6d.; rent, 5s. 3d. (assumed) ; insurance, 5s. 3d.; interest, 7s. 3d.; total £5 13s. 6d.
The running costs per mile will be: Petrol, 1.50d. ; oil, 0.08d.; tyres, 0.80d.; maintenance, 0.60d.; depreciation, 0.40d.; total, 3.38d., and that at 150 miles per week "amounts to £2 2s. 3d.
If therefore you are to make a gross profit of 13 4s. 3d. per week you must charge £11 per week for the hire of your vehicle,--8.T.R.1
