Strachans's New Half-drop Window.

&radians (Acton), Ltd., Wales Farm Road, North Acton, London, W.3, has recently introduced a new self-locking half-drop window which should be of particular interest to passenger-vehicle operators. The window is a development of the company's well-known fulldrop type, which has been manufactured for 10 years.

The operation of the window is simple and is controlled by the thumb and first finger. The depression of a catch revolves a cam rod, the cam forcing the locking angle down. This, being connected by links to the window frame, is naturally drawn nearer to it, thereby lessening the distance between the out side faces of the two sections. Thewindow is thus free to slide in the fixed channels, which are screwed to the pillars. Upon releasing the catch the angle is forced outwards again by a spring' and the window is rigidly fixed on each side for its entire depth.

When closed, a weather seal, in the form of a rubber strip, is provided between the upper and lower frames ; it also absorbs vibration and prevents rattle. The entire window may be readily removed.

The prices for the new window vary, of course, according to the material and finish of the metal frame.
