PROBLEMS' connected with the proposed new vehicle lighting regulations have been taken up with the Ministry of Transport by the Traders' RoadTransport Association.

The Minister is considering draft regulations to make it compulsory for sehicles to carry two rear red reflectors on and after October 1. Details of these regulations have not yet been issued. In addition, regulations making compulsory two rear red lamps on and after a date yet to be fixed are to be introduced.

The regulations will permit rear reflectors to be incorporated in the lamps, and members of the T.R.T.A. have indicated their intention of taking advantage of this concession. As the reflectors will become compulsory as from October 1, manufacturers may not, however; be able to provide adequate supplies of combined lamps and reflectors unless they soon knov, the official requirements.
