Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

It can't be coincidence that the two market leaders use similar versions of the EEA's Cummins' latest smallcapacity engines. The fourcylinder unit is light, robust and delivers a range of power and torque suited to the 7.5tonne weight category The 150 will prove to be the most popular option. With a fivespeed gearbox, the overdrive top gear gives a geared speed of about 70mph for motorway running but the truck runs most economically at 35 to 45 mph where the engine's torque output is maximised. Reported fuel consumption figures of around 19.0mpg are what we expect at this weight. Payload is as good as any in its class and the chassis is suited to all manner of applications.

A heavy feel to the brakes is a criticism we have made about a number of disc brake systems; we believe it may be an attempt by the makers to prevent over-braking in the light laden condition.

The new cab looks good, is relatively spacious and quiet. Daf has a two-year headstart on its main competitor in this respect and this should make the LF more desirable as it becomes available on the used truck market. The interior layout allows crosscab movement while the specification in the day cab caters for two or three seats.

Daf offers a high level of specification but most importantly, the LF has built on the earlier Daf 45's reputation for reliability
