J&J claims that the system can be deployed within ninety seconds and fits into most mediumroofed vans. It comes fitted with disc brakes and a working load of 1,200kg on the axle. AA Tyre Fit has set up the UK's first all-mobile national tyre network, with 70 mobile units already in operation. There are plans to expand this number to 270 by the end of the year, and to 500 by 2005. Research by the company showed that Just 41 of fleet and private motorists who have sampled mobile tyre fitting would return to a traditional fitting centre.
