Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Marks and Spencer is to begin a pilot of its food-only stores at motorway service areas (MSAs) later this year.

The first Simply Food store will be sited at the Moto service area on the M1 at Toddington, Bedfordshire and will provide a range of the group's products Including ready meals, sandwiches and baked goods.

A spokesperson for Moto says that this site will operate on a trial basis for six months: If this is successful, we will then look at other service areas where we may be able to open additional sites. These stores will enable us to vastly increase the choice for customers." Jill Bruce, general manager of Marks and Spencer Food Formats says: "Our Simply Food format has been extremely successful and we plan to roll-out 150 to high streets, stations and suburbs by March 2006.

"The Moto trial will enable us to investigate the potential for further extension of this already popular format."

Pat Nicholson, spokeswoman for the 350member Professional Drivers Association (PDA) welcomes the move: "A lot of drivers cook in their cabs so it will be very useful if they can buy a range of meals at an MSA. The more choice we have, the better."
