Lorries R Us

Sollectors of model CVs are going to have a lively and, possibly very expensive, summer once they get hold of Corgi's new catalogue of classic wagons. For a start the catalogue costs £2 and is a numbered limited edition. From fire engines to classic cars to a series of improbable James Bond vehicles, accompanied by the appropriate figures including Bond, Blofeld, Jaws and Odd jab, it's all here. You can also build up your own Chipperfield's Circus complete with Scammell Constructor Cannon, Foden 521 lorry with elephant trailer and elephants, ERF KV animal trailer with lions, tigers and trainer, a ringmaster, prancing horses and so on—just bring your own sawdust, Haulage addicts will be attracted by three collections: Famous Hauliers Around Britain; the Whisky Collection and the Confectionary Collection—all featuring liveried lorries from evocative eras of road transport. Eddie Stobart and BRS fans can indulge their wildest fantasies by buying a transport depot kit for both famous names—somewhere to park the vehicles at night and no 0-licence required. The whole catalogue is a joy for transport and nostalgia buffs but bear in mind that lorries start at around £17. One small gripe—when can we expect models of the Hawk with his trusty Reliant Robin and faithful dog Foden? (not a corgi, I am afraid to say). I am sure this will be put right in time for the Christmas rush. Contact: 0116 282 6633.
