• GEC-Marconi Communications has developed an electronic tag that allows vehicle movements to be monitored as they pass "interrogators". The small electronic device is a development of the tele-tag system—which stores a unique identification code—incorporating a standard serial interface so it can be connected to odometers, fuel gauges and other instruments or sensors. Additional vehicle data can be collected and passed to a computer back at base.
The system allows remote monitoring of vehicles and loads for enhanced security, safety and control.
