These trailers will be )Id under the Scammell name hich, Mr Davies believes, is ynonymous with heavy aulage vehicles. Latterly, the cammell name has been used n standard York products sold irough six distributors.

An autonomous bodybuilding ivision will operate from Warngton, and will take over the odybuilding work carried out Iss successfully at the Northal)rton trailer plant. Mr Davies aid that the mixture of bodyuilding and trailer manufacture ad been a nuisance for producon staff, and said the change of dant would encourage deelopment into a new market.

He added that the volume of service activity at the 14 regional centres has diminished, and several will be given an opportunity to develop to their maximum potential. A 15th will be opened in South Yorkshire in late summer.

York is also planning to launch a new Freightmaster trailer later this year, and two other new products, which Mr Davies promised would be "profound in their impact" will be launched at the same time.

And Anthony Carrimore, which York says has ceased to be a financial problem child, is to launch a range of skips in September.
