AN investigation into rural transport facilities in Northumberland is being carried out by the county's rural community council. They hope to present a report to the Government suggesting improvements.
The report will deal with the changes in transport facilities since 1950; the effects of poor transport on the economic life of rural areas; and the extent to which present facilities meet public needs.
' One suggestion the council is expected to make is that bus operators running unretnunerative rural services should be subsidized.
