OAF Trucks are changing from contractors' to ownaccount transport to improve their spares service still further. Regular deliveries of parts to dealers on specified days are guaranteed. Ninetyfour per cent of parts are claimed to be held in stock or to be available within 36 hours. A DAF FT2100DHR is being used on a delivery service extending from Aberdeen to Plymouth.
Some other manufacturers, such as Volkswagen, continue to be highly satisfied with contractors' services for distributing spares. At least they can count on their contractors to buy their vehicles.
