Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

DAF is to make its own single-spine version of the 2100 series available in Britain.

First announced at the 1978 Amsterdam show and built along the lines of the Mercedes ridge-back conversion, it allows for a body with a low platform height to be fitted. Ancillary equipment, including air reservoirs, batteries and fuel tanks, are grouped together directly behind the cab, while the brake lines and electrical wiring are fitted under the control box girder. Wheelbase and chassis lengths may be specified to suit individual pallet size. The platform height can be as low as 350mm (14in) above ground level to simplify loading and unloading operations.

A net platform width of 2.25m (7.4ft) is possible but it is divided equally into two parts by the chassis. The DAP* conversion adds about 100kg (2cwt) to the standard specification and will cost in the region of E1,500 extra. The bodywork is not included but can be added by any reputable body builder.
