• Mr William McQueen, chairman of RHA North of Scotland sub-area a tnember of the Vehicle Maintena Advisory Committee for Scotland, was fit £12 at Wick Sheriff Court on Monday permitting one of his drivers to use a lo with defects relating to brakes, tyres front axle. He operates as a haulage c tractor at Lochy Road, Inverness.
Mr Peter Johnston, for Mr McQue said that his client had suffered a great d of embarrassment and loss of di through the incident.
Evidence was given that while the lo concerned was being unloaded at Or Lodge, Thurso, it moved backwards and down a slope into a wall.
The alleged driver of the vehicle did appear in court. A warrant was issued his arrest.
