from the beginning of next year in a bid to reduce recent heavy financial losses.
Although the rail services will be withdrawn Freightliners intend to maintain local roadbased operations for customers in the area. Connections with rail services will be through other terminals at Leeds, Nottingham and Manchester.
Mr Cyril Bleasdale, managing director of Freightliners, said: "The Sheffield terminal and its associated services have been making losses for some years and the 1975 deficit will be in the region of £100,000."
