BONUS AWARDS FOR 1912.

In accordance with the terms of the announcement -which has appeared from time to time during the last 12 months, in the "Drivers' and Mechanics' " columns, we now have pleasure in announcing the names of the winners of these special prizes for the past year.

Two-Guineas Bonus.

This bonus, for "the contributor who secures the weekly ten shillings 'D. and M.' prize for the largest number of -times during the twelve months" has been awarded to

G. Fox ("Toby"), Cardiff.

It is interesting to note the progress of this contributor „since this annual competition was first inaugurated, In our issue dated 15th December, 1910, on p. 312, an announcement appeared to the effect that Toby (Cardiff) was the winner of a consolation prize in the annual driver's bonus competition for that year. In the issue for 711t December, 1911, " Toby" (Cardiff) appeared or a joint winner of the first prize value ..e2 2s. It was further announced that the second prize of 1 1s. offered to the contributor who had the largest number of individual contributions inserted in the "D. and M." colurn,ns during the preceding year had been awarded to the -same writer. During the last year seven 108. prizes have been -awarded to Mr. G. Fox. We extend our congratulations to _this competitor.

One-Guinea Bonus.

This bonus, for "the, contributor who hoe the largest number of individual letters inserted" during the twelve months, is secured by a newcomer, whose letters and sketches have been welcomed, and also criticized by many of our readersThe winner's name is

R. Twelvetrees (" R. T."), Andover.

" R.T." had a total of 17 "D. and M." letters published during the stipulated period. This is the first occasion in which this competitor has figured in the winning list of the Annual Bonus scheme. Three of his letters have been awarded 10s. prizes during the past year. This is sufficient proof, we imagine, that new and inexperienced contributors possess an equal chance with correspondents of long standing. To " R.T." also we extend our congratulations.

Consolation Prizes.

In accordance with our established custom in connection with these Annual Bonus competitions, we shall again award a special series of prizes to our "driver and mechanic" contributors.
