Government Leasing tender up for grabs

LEAtilNCi SPECIALISTS have until the end of the month to secure their place on the government's four-year, Ulm framework contract to supply vehicles to the public sector.

The lucrative vehicle leasing and fleet outsource solution framework will give suppliers the opportunity

to provide light commercial vehicles 7.5-tonners and 1-16Vs to bodies as diverse as Royal Mail Group, Scottish Water, National Parks Authorities and the police.

The entire contract is worth between .€1 bn and i2bn across the government departments' entire leasing needs The notice asks fleet suppliers only for "the most economically advantageous tender" by 27 August.

Buying Solutions, the contracting authority putting the framework agreement in place, says it will replace the existing Vehicle Lease framework and the Ministry of Defence White Fleet framework.

A spokesman says it "will provide an efficient, value-for-money route to market for any public sector organisation with a requirement for vehicle leasing".

The framework is divided into eight lots depending on particular fleet needs. and tenders can be submitted for more than one lot. A maximum of 10 providers will he allocated a place on the lots A spokesman for the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association says: it's in everyone's interest to take the time to get on the list."
