Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

MOST of the vehicle s without premises in list 12 of transport units, published on Wednesday, are light types weighing 3 tons or less unladen. Even in the large units with premises there are relatively few big lorries.

The list comprises 1,537 vehicles, including spares, but excluding trailers. Only 406 are newly offered. Part I consists of 30 units with premises (719 vehicles), all except one of which were offered in list S.4 and have special conditions of sale. The other unit was in list R.5.

Part IL comprising 818 vehicles without premises, is designed for small buyers, having an average of under two vehicles per unit.

As the accompanying analysis shows, 34 per cent, of all vehicles offered are in the South Eastern Division of British Road Services.

The Special Traffics Division includes 12 heavy haulage units, each comprising one prime mover with trailer or semitrailer. There are three in Glasgow, Iwo each in London and Stafford, and one each in Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester and Southampton. THE British Transport Commission have now supplied the Minister of Transport with the additional information which he required to settle the difference between the Commission and the Road Haulage Disposal Board over the sale of the meat-transport system of British Road Services. A representative of the Ministry of Transport could not say on Tuesday whether the Minister had reached a decision.

A NOTHER purchase of ex-B.R.S. ri vehicles has been made by the Storage Co. (Penarth), Ltd., Penarth. The 23 lorries concerned have been transferred to Hacketts Haulage, Ltd., 229 Cross Lane, Salford.
