THE fifth annual conference of the National Co-operative Traffic Managers' Association will be held at the Norbreck Hydro, Blackpool, from May 18-21, 1963. Among the lectures to be given will be: "Scientific Management ", Mr. A. W. Dickinson, staff tutor of the British Motor Corporation Staff College; "A Quality Story ", the Ford Motor Co.; " Batteries 1870-1970 ", Mr. C. J. Bushrod, technical manager of Chloride Batteries Ltd.; and "Lockheed Hydraulic Brakes in the Motor Industry ", Mr. P. J. Holman, service school instructor of Automotive Products Co. Ltd.
For Contract Hire A NEW company, Vehicle Rentals Ltd.,
has been formed by the Shaw and Kilburn-Carmo-Nash Motor Group, and is aimed at dealing with the entire operation of commercial vehicle and car contract hire from fleets of heavy commercial vehicles, including special equipment and bodies, to single cars.
Mr. D. R. Goudie, who may be reached at Primrose 7788, has been appointed manager of the new company, the headquarters of which will be at 4-6 Berkeley Square, London, W.1.
Bluebird Van Prices SUGHTLY higher prices for 15-cwt. vans bodied by Bluebird Caravans Ltd., Parkstone, Dorset, were announced last week. Commer-based gown and Luton vans arc now £878 5s. and £736 10s., respectively and B.M.C.-based gown and Luton vans are £851 5s, and £724, respectively. The main distributor for these vehicles is Crofton Garages Ltd., 132-134 Whitechapel Road, London, El.
Road Services Move THE London branch of Road Services (Caledonian) Ltd. has been transferred to Eley Estate, Angel Road, Edmonton, N.8 (telephone, Edmonton 8681-6), and has there been integrated with the new company, Forth-Caledonian (London) Ltd. London branches of Road Services (Forth) Ltd. and D. McKinnon (Transport) Ltd. will be transferred and integrated later.
