• The appointment was announced last week of Mr Alexander D. Rhea as managing director of Vauxhall Motors Ltd. Mr Rhea, an American, has been managing ' director of General Motors' Holden's 'Pty subsidiary in Australia and he takes over from Mr David Hegland who is being "placed on special leave of absence".

As part of a reorganization of General Motors' European operation, Mr L. Ralph Mason, at present managing director of OW' West German subsidiary, Adam Opel, will now also have overall responsibility for Vauxhall Motors. From October 1 Mr Rhea will be responsible to Mr Mason who, in turn, will report directly to Mr Harlow W. Gage, head of GMs' Overseas Operations division in New York.
