• It was announced on Tuesday that DAF Motors (GB) Ltd will be appointing nine agents throughout the UK to handle sales of DAF commercial vehicles in Great Britain. In addition a mobile service unit will be operated by the company which is a subsidiary of the Dutch manufacturer. The sales target for Britain will bebetween 100 and 150 vehicles in the first year and by 1976 a figure of a thousand trucks annually is aimed for. The vehicles exhibited at Earls Court have been chosen as the most suitable for the British market. Estimated prices will be as follows: the FT2000 tractive unit for up to 28 tons gcw, £4,500; FT2200 for' up to 36 tons, £5,460; FT2600 four-wheel tractive unit for up to 40 tons, £6,750; FTS2600 6 x 2, £7,700; and the FTS2600 6 x 4, £8,100. These last two vehicles are suitable for operation at up to 45 tons, gcw. The terminal tractor at Earls Court will be priced at £10,950. DAF Motors say that these prices could be up to £50 out when the specification exactly suitable for the British market has been developed.
