FE Scottish Grocers Federation has 'T'HE a new service for members through its constituent trading company, • S.G.F. (Supplies and Services) Ltd., in co-operation with Bordal Motor Engineers, of Edinburgh. Under this arrangement special facilities will be provided for purchase of new and used cars and commercial vehicles, for repairs and accessories, petrol and oil and allied equipment, and also for maintenance and
renewal of these facilities. S.G.F.is a group buying organization embracing grocers throughout Scotland. Since its inception three years ago the trade companies are concerned to secure advantageous group facilities for grocer members and have achieved very substantial success in this direction.
S.G.F. (Supplies and Services) Ltd. a constituent company controlled by the Scottish Grocers Federation, is building up a fleet of delivery vehicles to operate from three new depots which have been created to take bulk loads from trunk delivery to redistribute within the various Scottish areas. The first B.M.C. threeway, five-ton van has been taken over by the company and will be used to deliver goods on behalf of the other associated company S.G.F. (Trading) Ltd. The initial vehicle of this type has been delivered and others are due to go into service shortly. Depots are located at Dundee, Bonnybridge and Bilston, near Edinburgh.
