The Transport Managers' Licence Committee is not a tool of Government, the national chairman of the Industrial Transport Association assured the members of the London Division when he spoke as principal guest at the ladies' festival at the Europa Hotel on Saturday. Added Mr. Douglas: "We are not 'yes' men in the committee or in this association, and God help us if we ever become so."
He told his listeners that this was a year of recruitment for the ITA. The transport managers' licence proposals meant that there would be a terrific potential for professional bodies. "We are sitting on the edge of a volcano which could erupt at any moment", he said.
