• The Minister of Transport has decided to discontinue the National Road Safety Advisory Council, set up in 1964 to review the road accident situation and methods of accident prevention, and to advise the Minister arid the Secretaries of State for Scotland and Wales on matters of importance to road safety.
The Minister now feels that its work is being duplicated by arrangements for closer and more direct consultations and action with people and organizations in the road safety field.
