Traffic chaos was caused on the M25 over the weekend of 13-14 November by a fatal fuel tanker crash on Friday night between J5-6 on the Kent-Surrey border. The road was closed in both directions after the tanker spilled 7,000 litres of fuel.
Phone phreaks
The number of people who drive while using a handheld mobile phone has fallen just 25% since a ban was introduced last December, according to TRL.

VOSA has appointed Alastair Peoples as operations director. He will replace Bob Tatchell who held the position for 10 years.
Slow recovery
One in three people drive the morning after a heavy drinking session. A Direct Line survey reveals young drivers believe it will take six hours to be sober enough to drive; research shows that it can take 12 hours to recover after drinking just four pints.
Exel's bidding
Exel is part of a consortium shortlisted to manage the MoD's new Future Defence Supply Chain initiative (FDSC1) contract. The government will announce its decision next March.
