III Telford-based Super Freight is shutting down after losing several key contracts. Owner John Owen says the administrative receivership was sparked by the loss of several deals over recent months. The final straw was when Super Freight failed to clinch a major contract which was up for renewal, according to Owen.
"Unfortunately that fell through and we have had to close down," he says. As a result, 26 staff have lost their jobs and 30 trucks and trailers have been repossessed.
Super Freight, of Halesfield industrial Estate, Telford, started life in 1980.
