THE municipal busmen's pay rise of 9s. 3d.
a week agreed only two hours before the Prime Minister's six-month freeze announcement on July 20 will be paid from January 14, 1967. A total of 77,000 busmen are involved.
A claim for a pay increaser for 100,000 company busmen is still under negotiation. The employers have insisted that restrictive practices and other matters should be cleared up before the pay question is resolved, although the unions were due to meet employers this week.
