T.ANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL trans'–`port committee, since the beginning of the year, has been using a computer to compare the costs of alternative systems of maintenance on all vehicles maintained by the central vehicle maintenance unit. The committee reports that from statistics for six months it is possible to pick out certain trends, but it is as yet too early to discover the most economical method of vehicle maintenance.
