Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

TRANSPORT operators may be prohibited from using a new set of safety signs proposed by the Health and Safety Executive because they might be confused with other signs in common use.

The new signs are designed to help workshop safety and are based on four colours and shapes using symbols to depict the hazards and it is feared that they might in some cases become confused with signs used to warn of hazardous loads.

HSE says that the new signs may be confused with the signs used to regulate the movement of traffic. It has not included fire fighting equipment in the regulations or emergency exits.

The new signs are being introduced under an EEC directive which says that they must be introduced by January 1, 1981.
