A WARRANTY for a period up to one million Idlomet, on certain parts has been I nounced by Cummins coincide with the launch oft new Turbo-250.
The existing Cummins w; ranty covers in-line and v engines on parts and labo for one year or 161,00014 (100,000 miles). An extend4 parts-only warranty on t cylinder block, crankshaft a connecting rods is already o ered on all engines up to thr years or 483,000km (300,0 miles).
The new optional pro ramme — known as Cumin] Custom Covers — provid protection against defects workmanship and material specified engine parts for period of five years, one n lion kilometres (620,000 mili or 18,000 hours from the iginal date in service. T warranty can be transferred a second owner.
Parts cover
The engine componen covered by Custom Cover al cylinder block, cranksha; connecting rods, flywhe housing, cylinder-head ca tings, cylinder-head ca screws, gearcase cover, ( pan, water-pump body ca ting, oil-cooler housin rocker-arm housing, intal manifold castings and valv cover castings.
Should a failure occur, tl part will be replaced although the programme do not cover labour.
Custom Cover can I purchased at the same time the vehicle, or at any time t to six months from the date service. Cost is £85 on all typ of NH/NT engines and £75 Darlington-built vee-engin€ This cost will be reviewed a nually but Cummins stre that Custom Cover is z optional programme whic the operator does not have purchase.
