Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Proposals have been published for a sixmile extension of M56 North Cheshire Motorway from its present westernmost terminal point at Hapsford to a new junction with A5117 at Lea by Backford, Cheshire.

By early 1975 a continuous 28+-mile length of M56 will be open to traffic between Hapsford and south of Manchester. with links to M6, M63 and M62.

The new section will run westwards, mainly through open country, from the existing M56 interchange at Hapsford. The route will pass under A5032, rise on embankment to pass over A41 trunk road, cross the Chester-Rockferry railway and swing northwards to rejoin A5117.
