H.F. JACKCRANES IMPROVED

AUSEFUL improvement to the 1-ton, 30-cwt. and 2-ton H.F. Jackcranes, made by Harvey Frost and Co., Ltd., Bishop's Stortford, Essex, lies in the provision of an adjustable telescopic extending jib. These models now give lifting capacities at four defined positions from a minimum overhang of 3 ft. 3 ins. to 5 ft. 2 ins.

As an example. the 1-ton Jackcrane can lift 1 ton with a jib overhang of 3 ft. 3 ins., 15 cwt. at 3 ft. 10 ins., 10 cwt. at 4 ft. 5 ins. and 5 cwt. at 5 ft. Incidentally, the 10-cwt. model has a jig with a fixed overhang of 4 ft. 6 ins.

A load may be raised after the 114 manner of a normal lifting jack, or the equipment May be used as a crane, in which capacity it has specific applications in engine and gearbox removal from chassis.

All H.P. Cranes, excepting the original 12-cwt. and 10-cwt. models, are fitted with a patented universal-gear unit, which is totally enclosed and incorporates an automatic friction clutch.
