Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Men a contract deal comes to an end there's the risk of a dispute over the vehicle's condition — unless you use the new BVRLA guide.

The British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association will be launching two Fair Wear and Tear guides at the CV Show, giving operators industry standards for vehicles returning from contract deals. The light commercial vehicles guide has been put together with Manheim Auctions; the heavy goods vehicle version was compiled with the Freight Transport Association. The two guides are completely separate, reflecting the different standards and criteria between the two sectors.

John Lewis, director general of the BVRLA, says it is providing definitive return standards for end-of-contract commercial vehicles."It's long been a grey area but these new guides shed more than a little light on this difficult topic he adds."Now lessees will know what standard vehicles will have to b returned in so that they can avoid refurbishment charges."

Both Fair Wear and Tear guides are pictorial, giving actual examples so that the standard required by all manufacturers is clearly defined. -Words alone would still lead to misir terpretation but with a picture it's the in black and white or in this case full colour," Lewis explains.

The new guides will be launched at noon on 23 March by the BVRLA on stand 12, Hall 6; it will be available to everyone visiting the stand.
