Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

We carried out the test with a high level of accuracy and precision, so that the manufacturers that took part could be confident that even if their truck did not win, it would be given a fair chance.

To give one example, in calculating the fuel consumption, the diesel's temperature was measured in the vehicle's tank, since this can throw the reading out significantly Also, all the testers were told to drive in exactly the same way around the route every single time, even after they had switched trucks. That meant not only accelerating and braking at the same points, but also driving on exactly the same road surface.

We aren't able to explain every testing procedure here, but this should at least provide an idea of the accuracy involved.
