Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

TWO ENTIRELY different awards, which nevertheless bear one upon the other, have been made to Perkins Engines. Le Trophee International de L'Industrie presented by L'Institut International de Promotion et Prestige, a Unesco affiliate, is something to be cherished. It recognises the company's "outstanding international prestige and reputation."

Inevitably, there are those who are anxious to cash-in on more than 50 years of technological achievement, and Perkins Engines and MasseyFerguson have had to resort to the law to protect their integrity in Britain and France.

Under an out-of-court settlement, Bence Equipment and Parts Co (Bepco) is to pay the two companies more than £100,000 in agreed damages in a dispute over the use of their logos and trade marks. Bepco is to modify the packaging of parts that it sells to make it clear that they are not manufactured by Massey-Ferguson or Perkins Engines. In addition, Bepco and two directors have agreed not to infringe Perkins Engines or Massey-Ferguson trade marks or copyrights.

Thus that hard-won international prestige and reputation are to be protected.
