Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

(RTF) report, published last week, has been written by knowledgeable people with a wide range of interests.

The result is a document that sets out London's ambitions for the next two decades, all of which will increase the population (10 million by 2030) who will need feeding and watering, which brings us to the areas of most concern.

The most important aspect here is kerb space. This an area that is already diminishing at a rapid rate of knots, but it is not directly discussed in the report. It will be needed in large quantities if the RTF vision for the capital is to be realised.

We must remember that 90% of all goods moved in London every day is via the road network (currently 360,000 tonnes of goods are moved every 24 hours in London).

Out of hours' deliveries are an absolute must for these plans to succeed, and the key to this is the London Lorry Control Scheme (LLCS), administered by London Councils, on behalf of the 33 Boroughs of London. London Councils must be prepared to review and change the outdated LLCS, which they were reluctant to do for the 2012 Olympics.

Kerb space is available 24/7 but is currently used at about 50% which makes a review of the LLCS an absolute must.

The legacy from the Olympics must be remembered. This was successful over a period of two months and not all year round, which is what is needed for a successful future for logistics in London.
