Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

HE TIME HAS COME for road transport operators to advertise heir services. They cannot afford to sit around any longer. "hey must go out and make things happen.

People and goods are there to be moved. Already the .:onfederation of British Road Passenger Transport has aunched an advertising campaign to lure passengers from rail 3nd private cars.

There are plenty of cross-country coach services which are Theaper and better than rail. Local bus services are grossly Jnder-used, despite the heavy cost of running and parking private cars.

The CPT move is timely and praiseworthy. Road hauliers should take a leaf out of its book.

This is a role for the Road Haulage Association. For too long it has been all too ready to jump to its own defence. Never has it gone out and consciously sold its members' services. It is almost as if there was something to hide.

The operating companies within the National Freight Company have shown that advertising has a part to play in winning business.

And business is there to be won.

Potential customers are using either rail or their own transport. All that is required to win the business is proof that using a road haulier is better in every way.

Those who sit around and wait for the end of recession do so at their peril. They will awaken when there is no work left.
