F OLLOWING the death of Mr. E. E. 1 Davies, Corwen, the holder of a twovehicle B licence, his widow continued to run the vehicles but, being unacquainted with the licensing system. failed to renew the licence. The North Western Deputy Licensing Authority, Mr. J. R. Lindsay, was told this at Wrexham, last week, when Mrs. N. B. Davies applied to take over the licence.
Mr. G. P. Crowe, on her behalf, said figures were available for work for Merioneth County Council, Corwen Gas Unit, and Corwen Farmers' Association. Witnesses could .prove the business was still in existence.
Mr. Lindsay pointed out that a shortterm licence expired on June 13, and the vehicles had been running unlicensed since then. He would set a time limit for the production of probate and certified figures of the gross earnings and tonnages 'carried, or the licence would lapse.
An immediate application would have to be made for a second short-term licence, and two months would then he given for the documents to be produced. If he was not then satisfied, the matter would again be taken to inquiry.
