FOR their tram replacement 'scheme, Glasgow Corporation have ordered 100 .. Leyland Titan P02.24 doubledeckers. similar to the 200 models previously ordered. The vehicles will be .27 ft. long with full-width engine compartments and semi-automatic Prieumo.Cyclic gearboxes and air brakes. W. Alexander and Co. (Coachbuilders), Ltd., Stirling, arc. to build the bodies. Daimler. are to supply the Corporation with 50 C.VG.6 double-deckers, each 27 ft. longand 8 -ft_ wide. They will incorporate the Dairnatic two-pedal semi-automatic gearbox with the Fluid Flywheel, and, a dual circuit air-pressure braking system. There will be cold air induction and fibre-glass front-end structure. The engines will have special fittings to allow frequent oil changes.
