TESCO IS RUNNING more than 75% of its 2,000 trucks on a50% biodiesel blend marketed as Greenergy B50.

Tesco is one of the first fleet operators to convert to B50 biodiesel, The move will cut the supermarket giant's greenhouse emissions, primarily carbon dioxide, by some 70,000 tonnes per year -equivalent to removing 20,000 medium-sized cars from UK roads.

Tesco has teamed up with Greenergy Fuels (which supplies over 250 million litres of biofuels per month, more than 50% of the UK biofuels market) to build a biodiesel plant at Immingham on the Humber.
