John Taylor has been promoted to area director for Ryder Truck Rental's western region, responsible for 100 staff and the Swindon to South Wales area. Since 1985 he was maintenance director of the company having joined the Avonmouth branch as a mechanic in 1976.
Jeff Baker has replaced Taylor as maintenance director. He was previously maintenance superintendent, and joined the company in 1986. Prior to this he worked for the National Bus Company in North Devon as a fleet engineer, and later as operations manager.
