• The sale of Falkirk-based PSV coachbuilder Walter Alexander should be completed this week, following the disposal of its quilt-making subsidiary. With two potential bidders, there might be an auction for the company. Last week the Alexander family sold its Slumberdown
subsidiary for £1.75 million: well below its expected price. This leaves the coachbuilding interests, with factories at Falkirk and Belfast, and the Domnick Hunter filter business.
With the decline in bus body orders, the filter.husiness has generated most of the group's profits in recent years.
