Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

IT was stated on Tuesday at Cardiff that British Road services stood to lose £1 1,000 a year on local distribution alone if an application by Hill's Transport (Cardiff) Ltd. to add five vans not exceeding 20 tons to a B licence were granted. BRS objected.

The vehicles were for the carriage of all goods for Nestle's Holdings (UK) Ltd. and associated companies within 200 miles of Cardiff. The hearing was adjourned.

Mr. Norman Gore, executive in charge of Nestle's depots, said his company's national policy at the moment was to concentrate the products of all the companies in the group into one main warehouse in each part of the Country.

Three depots in Cardiff would close and a new warehouse of some 400,000 sq. ft was being built at Hill's Transport depot from which all products would be distributed throughout Hereford and the southern half of Wales.

Cross-examined by Mr. Ian Jenkins, Mr. Gore agreed that BRS had always given excellent service, but his group's distribution policy was integration of both warehouse and loading.
