• The announcement of the Government's decision on manufacturers' proposals for an increase in the present 32-ton maximum permitted weight for articulated vehicles was due as CM went to press this week.
Mr John Peyton, Minister for Transport Industries, was to make known the details in reply to a written Parliamentary question.
Indications were that the concession on weight would fall short of that for which the industry has been pressing, with small increases on some vehicles.
