Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A range of thin jaw-pulling tools has been introduced by Sykes-Pickavant. Designed to perform difficult extracting operations the range is available in a wide variety of sizes and options.

Featuring thin spade-like jaws that are made from nickelchrome-molybdenum steel to withsand very high pressures, the pullers are offered in two basic forms, operated either by mechanical screw or hydraulic ram. Both hydraulic and mechanical ranges are available as twin or triple leg tools in a size range incorporating a wide variety of spread and reach dimensions.

Flexibility and versatility are enhanced by the interchangeability of the fin, and 9in. legs. By the purchase of an alternative set of legs, beams and screw, the user can build up a comprehensive kit around one puller which will perform a wide variety of extracting operations. As an alternative, the company offers pullers in kit form which enable the user to make up a full range of either mechanical or hydraulic versions.

The pullers are said to be ideally suited for tasks involving the removal of gears or bearings where clearance is limited and access space is at a premium. They are also suited to the more conventional pulling and extracting operations because of the wide purchase of the jaw.

Six models in the mechanical range are available in twin-leg and triple-leg form with spreads of 3in. to 6in, and reaches of 3in, to 9in. Also produced in twin-leg and triple-leg form the five models in the hydraulic range has spreads and reaches of 6in. /9in .
