• British Leyland and four other leading motor industry firms have signed a co-operation agreement which could lead to the building of a British commercial vehicle plant in the USSR. The agreement enables the British firms to inspect Russian truck plants with reciprocal arrangements for the Russians to have full access to plants in Britain.
The other firms concerned in the agreement are Guest Keen and Nettlefords, Associated Industries, Joseph Lucas and Smiths Industries.
