H. William Kirkland, 37, has been appointed chief engineer to SELNEC Passenger Transport Executive. Mr Kirkland commenced his career with Manchester Corporation's transport department. He moved to Simon Carves Ltd as a design draughtsman in the power plant department and subsequently joined AEI progressing from method study engineer to development engineer for the AEI switchgear factories in Trafford Park; his next post was assistant head of manufacture. Mr Kirkland took up his appointment with SELNEC PTE following 2; years as general manager of a company within the Truscon Group.

Arthur Turner, 47, has moved from London Country Bus Services' senior instructor at the company's Northfleet training centre to chief inspector, Windsor and Staines garages, responsible for the operation of more than 90 buses and Green Line coaches.

J. K. Colley has been appointed chairman of Crompton Leyland Electricars Ltd in succession to C. J. W. Scott who recenty retired from executive duties with Crompton Parkinson Ltd. Mr Colley is a director of Hawker Siddeley Electric Ltd, Crompton Parkinson Ltd, Brook Motors Ltd, and Aluminum Wire and Cable Co Ltd.
