• MEPs are calling for a single document setting out which border regulations will be scrapped on 1 January 1993.
A spokesman for the European Parliament says it would be a "welcome step in reducing bureaucracy" if the Commission wrapped up all the changes in a single measure. It would save time for MEPs and ministers, and make a handy reference.
